What to expect
- Your tour begins with early morning pickup from your Tamarindo-area beach along the Guanacaste Coast. A pit stop for coffee during the 2-hour drive up to Rincon de la Vieja Volcano energizes you before you start your hike.
- Upon arrival, your guide leads you through the forest of Rincon de la Vieja, pointing out animals like monkeys, wild turkeys, toucans, and more as you hike. Learn first-hand about volcanic activity as you spot mud pots and fumaroles, as well.
- Then, take a short walk to Oropendola Waterfall, an off-the-beaten-path attraction often skipped by visitors. Spend time swimming and admiring the falls before sitting down for lunch at a local restaurant.
- Next, continue to the natural hot springs at Rio Negro. Relax in thermal waters and take a mud bath to wind down.
- Tour concludes with hotel drop-off.
- Please note: Walking shoes, comfortable clothes, swimsuit, towel, bug repellent, sunscreen, and change of clothes are recommended.
